  • Alternate methods of communication for other services are being vetted and may be offered when deemed clinically appropriate.

Learn About Our PHP

Learn more about the Partial Hospitalization Program at Highland Ridge

In order to best serve our community, Highland Ridge Hospital offers a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) for mental health disorders as well as chemical dependency in Salt Lake City. These treatment programs may be used as a step up from traditional outpatient therapy or as a step down from inpatient mental health or chemical dependency programs. Our day treatment program meets for six hours per day, allowing our clients the flexibility to slowly reintegrate back into their community in the evenings.

Mental Health PHP

Our mental health partial hospitalization treatment program provides an intense structure each day to support our clients as they slowly return to their community or begin their path in more intensive forms of therapy. We offer a variety of treatments and services to our mental health day program clients, including

  • Family therapy
  • Individual therapy
  • Skills-building
  • Medication management
  • recreational therapy
  • Process-based therapy
  • Psychoeducational Group Therapy

These therapies are used to help our clients in this treatment program achieve or maintain their optimal level of functioning in their social, academic, vocational, interpersonal, and personal lives.

Chemical Dependency PHP

Our chemical dependency partial hospitalization group is designed for people who struggle with alcohol or drug addiction. Addiction can occur along a continuum of severity; some of our clients in this treatment program will need the constant support of our inpatient detox and rehab while others are able to work on their recovery in a structured outpatient treatment setting.

For our clients who do not require the level of care of an inpatient program, Highland Ridge Hospital offers a partial hospitalization program for our chemically dependent clients. This treatment program meets nine hours a day, seven days a week and offers the same level of care and intensity as our inpatient chemical dependency program.

Our chemical dependency PHP offers frequent and random drug screening to ensure our clients are maintaining their sobriety while outside our doors. Highland Ridge employs the same caring and compassionate staff in our PHP program and clients will be engaged in groups similar to those in our inpatient rehab program each day, including:

    • 12-step groups
    • Psychotherapy groups
    • Psycho-educational groups
    • Recreational alternative groups
    • Community milieu groups
    • Family groups
    • Special issues groups
    • Individual therapy
    • Family therapy
    • Yoga

For out of town clients, housing in these treatment programs may be available at no cost.

Highland Ridge's programs are unlike any other. They really know their stuff!
